Manchester United has sacked manager Erik Ten Hag after the team’s latest defeat at West Ham.

United sits 14th in the Premier League after nine matches, the worst start in club history. The Reds also have only three points in the Europa League through three games.

Erik Ten Hag’s time at the club was marked by inconsistency. In two and a half years, the Dutchman won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, but his poor results in the Premier League and Champions League led to a disconnect with the fans.

Unfortunately, Ten Hag’s successes will be overshadowed by his shortcomings, but his two trophies will always stand in Manchester United’s history.

Manchester United’s statement said, “We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.”

Ruud van Nistelrooy will take over as interim manager until United finds a new permanent manager.

  3. A significant moment in Manchester United’s journey. Erik Ten Hag’s departure comes after a challenging start to the season, and despite his success in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, the club’s struggles have ultimately led to this decision. His tenure will be remembered for both the highs and lows, and it’s a reminder of how unforgiving the world of football management can be. Best wishes to Ruud van Nistelrooy as he steps in to guide the team through this transition.
