Matheus Cunha’s impending transfer to Manchester United has taken another step forward.
According to an exclusive from Ben Jacobs on X, Cunha has agreed to a five-year contract with United, and the club will trigger his release clause this week. The full post read:

Cunha being handed the number ten shirt all but signals Marcus Rashford’s departure from the club. The 27-year-old has spent the season on loan at Aston Villa, who hold the option to make the move permanent this summer.
In two-and-a-half seasons at Wolves, Cunha scored 33 goals and assisted 15 in all competitions. His 15 Premier League goals this season were seven more than United’s leading scorer, Bruno Fernandes.
Matheus Cunha is set to play a key role in United’s revamped attack next season as the club continues its search for a new striker to further bolster the front line.
