Manchester United could enter a summer transfer battle for Antoine Semenyo’s signature.

According to David Ornstein, Ruben Amorim wants Semenyo at United next season. Ornstein confirmed via NBC Sports Soccer that the 25-year-old is one of several Bournemouth players likely to leave this summer after a surprisingly successful season.

Semenyo arrived at Bournemouth in January 2023 and was involved in just 12 goals in his first season and a half. This season, the Ghanaian international has been a revelation for the surging Cherries. He has 16 goal involvements, with 10 goals and 6 assists in 36 appearances.

Ruben Amorim sees Semenyo as a perfect fit for his tactics. The versatile forward can play any of the three positions in Manchester United’s front three, a role that Joshua Zirkzee has taken on this season.

Semenyo possesses the strength to serve as a central figure in attack, along with the speed and power to effectively operate in wider positions. His impressive goals-to-assists ratio demonstrates that he’s both creative and clinical in front of goal. He also offers a valuable quality that many of Manchester United’s recent signings lack, a proven track record in the Premier League.

With Semenyo tied to the club until 2029, Bournemouth would reportedly require a £65 million fee. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham are also interested in signing the forward.

Manchester United are also interested in Liam Delap, and it’s possible that the club could sign both players, given Semenyo’s adaptability.
