Manchester United’s effort to land Patrick Dorgu from Lecce has paid off and the two sides have reached a verbal agreement for the Danish wing-back.

A statement from Fabrizio Romano on X read: “Patrick Dorgu to Manchester United, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with Lecce, documents to be checked in next 24h.

“Fee will be €30m plus €5m in add-ons not guaranteed.

Romano also confirmed that a long-term contract was ‘agreed days ago’ with Dorgu, which is expected to be a five-year deal.

The timing of the transfer means that the 20-year-old may be available to make his debut on Sunday against Crystal Palace.

Dorgu will bring pace, power, and a natural left-sidedness that Manchester United has been missing in Amorim’s formation. While he is young and still inexperienced at left wing-back, expect the Danish international to make an impact on the team even during a period of transition.

Welcome to Manchester United, Patrick Dorgu.
