Ruud Van Nistelrooy ended his time as the interim manager of Manchester United with a victory. Next week, the keys will be handed to Ruben Amorim. With the Portuguese manager likely watching, who impressed for United?

Starting Eleven

Andre Onana: 8 – Onana made five saves en route to a clean sheet, saving .75 goals over expectation.

Diogo Dalot: 5 – Dalot did not have his best day but still contributed to the clean sheet.

Matthijs De Ligt: 6 – De Ligt was solid and had four clearances in the back. Consistency will be important for him as Amorim takes over.

Lisandro Martinez: 7 – When he is on his game, Martinez can stifle any opponent. He was the thorn in Leicester’s attacks and even had a last-man tackle.

Noussair Mazraoui: 7 – Mazraoui is Manchester United’s most consistent performer at the back. The Moroccan was again a threat in attack while admirably defending against Leicester’s wingers. The €15 million paid to Bayern Munich was a clear steal.

Manuel Ugarte: 9 – Ugarte continues to improve with each game, and this was his best performance in Red so far. He won ten ground duels and made eight tackles while also creating a big chance. Paired with Mainoo, this midfield duo can help United get back on track.

Casemiro: 7 – After a rough start to the season, Casemiro has been excellent. The Brazilian contributed with seven tackles and two clearances before being forced off with an injury.

Bruno Fernandes: 9 – The United captain marked his 250th club appearance with a goal and an assist. When he is on, the Reds win, as was the case against Leicester City.

Marcus Rashford: 4 – Rashford was disappointing, losing possession 15 times before being subbed off early in the second half. Amad Diallo was far more threatening in attack.

Rasmus Hojlund: 4 – Hojlund only had 23 touches in his 75 minutes on the pitch. Others around him stepped up to lead the goalscoring efforts.

Amad Diallo: 8 – Amad followed his two-goal match against PAOK with an assist. The Ivorian was United’s most dangerous attacker and has given Amorim a lot to think about this week.

Substitutions

Alejandro Garnacho: 7 – His goal was a stunner that capped a great day for the Reds. The Argentine still needs to work on his link-up play.

Jonny Evans: 6 – Evans is always disrespected yet continually performs at a high level. He contributed to the clean sheet with a couple of clearances and experienced play in the back.

Joshua Zirkzee: 5 – Zirkzee again came off the bench late and still only has a single goal this season. The Dutch striker looks more likely to leave each week.

Christian Eriksen: NR – Eriksen came on late for an injured Casemiro.

Man of the Match: Bruno Fernandes
