The Aaron Wan-Bissaka saga is now over, as the player has agreed to join West Ham. With Wan-Bissaka heading to London, Manchester United can now complete the signings of Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

David Ornstein has reported on the Athletic that Matthijs De Ligt will head to Old Trafford on a €50 million transfer. Noussair Mazraoui will join his teammate in a separate €20 million move. The players’ medicals will likely be scheduled for this weekend.

After injuries and form struggles led to defensive woes for the Reds last season, a reset at the back was needed. Raphael Varane was allowed to leave on a free transfer, and now Wan-Bissaka will go to West Ham. United has already added young star Leny Yoro to the mix, and De Ligt and Mazraoui will make it three defensive signings.

While Leny Yoro recovers from his pre-season injury, De Ligt should work as Lisandro Martinez’s partner. Mazraoui will compete with Luke Shaw and club Player of the Year Diogo Dalot for minutes at outside back.

Manchester United open the season against West Ham on August 17.
