Here we go! A second straight FA Cup between Manchester United and Manchester City kicks off on Saturday morning. City have already won the Premier League and will be looking for a second straight league and FA Cup double. The Manchester United Women have already found redemption for last year’s Final defeat. Can the Men’s side do the same?

Recent Form

Manchester United have won two straight but in an unconvincing way. United struggled against Brighton but found two late goals to get an away win.

Rasmus Hojlund has scored in two straight off the bench and will look to make it a third straight match with a goal in the Final. The clean sheet against Brighton was much needed, as it can provide confidence to a defensive line that is just now getting healthy.

Team News

Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Lisandro Martinez have all returned in recent matches and could each play a pivotal part against City.

Mason Mount, Victor Lindelof, and Anthony Martial have all returned to training, but it is uncertain what part they could play in the Final. Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are likely to not feature, though both are on the preliminary squad for Gareth Southgate.

Manchester City will be without Ederson, though Ortega would have likely started anyway, given the competition. Overall, the Cityzens are healthy and will come at United full force.

Predicted Starting XI

Goalkeeper: Andre Onana
Defenders: Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Diogo Dalot
Midfielders: Kobbie Mainoo, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes
Attackers: Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Amad Diallo

Match Prediction

Manchester United will upset Manchester City 2-1. Having Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane paired again will make a huge difference when defending City. Rasmus Hojlund will score more goals in this one than Erling Haaland, and we will see the rivalry begin, as Hojlund scores twice and Haaland once.

One Bold Prediction

Erik Ten Hag is gone with a win or loss. The question will be how quickly it happens. If Ten Hag wins, he will be given time to celebrate before getting the sack. If the Reds fall in the Final, it could happen within 24 hours of the Final.
