Starting Eleven
Senne Lammens: 6 – Lammens made two early saves in the second half, but could not keep Tottenham out. The Belgian had little chance to save either of Spurs’ goals, with one a deflection and the other a flicked header.
Matthijs De Ligt: 8 – De Ligt was active defensively, contributing with six clearances, two interceptions, and four duels won. He scored his first Manchester United goal with a 96th-minute header that earned the Reds a point at the death.
Harry Maguire: 7 – Maguire had little to do defensively, but was excellent in possession. The central defender completed 96% of his passes, including a cross, while losing possession just once in 72 minutes. Unfortunately, he was withdrawn due to injury after grabbing his hamstring.
Luke Shaw: 5 – Shaw stuffed the stat sheet with defensive numbers, though it was not his best game of late. The important thing for the 30-year-old is that he remains healthy and has already played nearly 1,000 minutes this season.
Noussair Mazraoui: 7 – Mazraoui returned to the starting lineup and provided energy down the right flank. He was subbed off in the 58th minute, likely due to match fitness.
Casemiro: 6 – Casemiro was solid in the midfield but had a few errors that led to attacks for Spurs. Still, he remains United’s best defensive-minded midfielder to play alongside Bruno Fernandes.
Bruno Fernandes: 6 – Bruno was nearly kept quiet for the entire match. That is, until his perfectly placed corner kick found De Ligt at the back post for a dramatic leveler.
Amad Diallo: 7 – Amad was excellent while playing attacking midfield, and supplied the cross that Bryan Mbeumo headed in for the opening goal. Defensively, the Ivorian needs to get better at stopping crosses, as he was nowhere near stopping the ball that Mathys Tel scored Tottenham’s first goal on.
Bryan Mbeumo: 7 – It was a different position, but the same result for Mbeumo against Spurs. The Cameroonian scored his fifth Premier League goal of the season with a header while playing off the left, rather than his usual right. As he has been in recent matches, he was the most dangerous player for United.
Matheus Cunha: 5 – It was a quieter day for Matheus Cunha, who has been an active and effective attacker for United this season. He had one blocked shot, zero key passes, and completed just 71% of his passes.
Substitutes
Benjamin Sesko: 4 – Sesko had two opportunities after coming on, including one brilliantly set up by Mason Mount. However, he could not make them count and was forced off injured when United had no subs left.
Manuel Ugarte: 3 – Ugarte’s struggles have made Casemiro all the more important. Kobbie Mainoo may be the one who teams are circling, but Ugarte is the more replaceable player.
Mason Mount: 6 – Mount was unlucky not to get an assist, as his slip pass set Benjamin Sesko in behind. The Amorim favorite continues to deliver when called on.
Leny Yoro: 5 – Yoro blocked a shot and lost his only duel in 18 minutes off the bench. If Maguire’s injury is serious, Yoro will move back into the starting eleven, where he has played well this season.
Diogo Dalot: NR – 80th minute sub
Man of the Match: Matthijs De Ligt
