Manchester United have secured the services of Bryan Mbeumo after a drawn-out negotiation with Brentford.

According to David Ornstein, the package will be worth £71 million, with £6 million being potential add-ons. His full post on X read:

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United reach agreement with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo. Deal between clubs struck at £65m guaranteed + up to £6m add-ons. 4 installments. 26yo forward only wanted & now being finalised

Mbeumo gives United another high-impact attacking player alongside new signing Matheus Cunha. The two star forwards combined for 48 goals and assists in the Premier League last season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United plan to shift focus towards signing a new striker in the coming weeks. However, the club now needs to raise funds through outgoing transfers to make a move possible.

While the saga is finally over, the cost to sign Mbeumo was high. Not only was the fee more expensive than the club wanted to pay, but United lost time in negotiations to complete other deals ahead of the new season.

With just eight days before the first match of the U.S. Tour, any signing after Mbeumo likely won’t be able to feature until the final preseason match against Fiorentina, meaning they will have little time to get up to speed before facing Arsenal.
