Manchester United must begin clearing out their squad to generate funds for new signings. That process has gained momentum this week, with five players formally requesting to leave the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano on X, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia have all asked to leave United ahead of the new season. Romano’s full statement read:

🚨 BREAKING: Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho have all informed Manchester United they wish to leave.

Man United have delayed their return date until later in July to allow them time to explore solutions further.

United was already looking to offload these players to fund new signings, but this development suggests none will be involved when the Premier League opening weekend arrives. Romano also reported that Rashford’s No. 10 is now Matheus Cunha’s, further pushing the 27-year-old out of the club.

Manchester United are pursuing moves for Bryan Mbeumo, Viktor Gyokeres, and others. Any transfer fee received for these five players will go a long way to helping Amorim secure his targets.
