Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro are the latest young Manchester United stars nominated for the Golden Boy Award.
Mainoo, who finished third in the Kopa trophy finalists, missed a chunk of the season due to injury, but still made 35 appearances in all competitions. His shining moment of the season came in the iconic win over Lyon, as his brilliant finish leveled the match at four ahead of Maguire’s winner.
Yoro was signed from Lille last summer for €62 million, but also suffered from injuries. His competitive debut was delayed until early December due to a preseason injury sustained against Arsenal. While still raw, the 19-year-old was excellent after returning, showing off his speed, intelligence, and technical ability, especially as the season wore on.
Other strong contenders include Pau Cubarsi from Barcelona, Dean Huijsen, who just moved to Real Madrid from Bournemouth, and Desire Doue of Paris St-Germain.
Previous winners from Manchester United include Wayne Rooney, Anderson, and Anthony Martial.
Good luck to Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro!
