Rasmus Hojlund’s time in Manchester could end after a tough season, with multiple clubs in Italy and Germany interested.

After a promising first campaign at Manchester United, Hojlund has failed to find his footing under Ruben Amorim. The Dane has scored just two league goals since the 40-year-old took over, leaving the new manager to assess potential signings to lead his front line.

Should Manchester United sign a new striker this summer, Hojlund will most likely be the frontman to depart. Joshua Zirkzee’s adaptability makes him a better asset in Amorim’s system, and Chido Obi is a new signing who has shown promise at 17.

While Hojlund desires to remain a Red, clubs in Italy and Germany have begun to show interest should the 22-year-old become available. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli, who currently sit second in Seria A, are interested in Hojlund, while reports also suggest that Xabi Alonso wants the Dane in Leverkusen. Both clubs have strikers who could leave this summer.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface have been linked to multiple clubs, including Manchester United. Interest from United means that a swap deal is a possibility should the deal make sense financially.

The report from La Gazzetta also says that any non-swap deal for Hojlund would cost around £50 million, with the club hoping to recover as much of the £62 million paid to Atalanta in 2022.

Should Manchester United pursue a swap deal with Bayer Leverkusen or Napoli for Rasmus Hojlund, focus on other striker options, or give the 22-year-old more time?
