With all left to play for after a 1-1 draw in San Sebastian, Manchester United will host Real Sociedad at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Team News

Manuel Ugarte could be available on Thursday after Ruben Amorim hinted at his return after the Arsenal draw. Toby Collyer is another recent return in the midfield having come off the bench the past two matches.

Harry Maguire is unlikely to return for the crucial Europa League battle, while Leny Yoro has fresh injury concerns. The Frenchman went off at halftime against Arsenal and after the match, Ruben Amorim said, “Leny, he has something in his foot. We’ll see if he’s available on Thursday.” The manager must be careful with his young defensive star, especially considering the time Yoro missed at the beginning of the season due to a foot injury.

If Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are withheld on Thursday, Ayden Heaven could get his first start. The 18-year-old was impressive in a big moment against his former team on Sunday after coming in for Yoro.

Joshua Zirkzee impressed in the first leg, scoring his first goal in Europe of the Reds, and should return to his recent attacking midfield role for the second leg.

Rasmus Hojlund has struggled of late but was solid in the first leg. Unless Amorim implements tactics similar to the Arsenal match, Hojlund should return to the starting eleven.

Patrick Dorgu is available for the second leg amid his domestic suspension.
