Manchester United are close to concluding the Patrick Dorgu transfer saga. According to Fabrizio Romano, a €37 million deal is close to being finalized, and the contracts are prepared.

Romano’s statement on X said, “Manchester United and Lecce are in direct contact again right now for Patrick Dorgu.

“Deal getting closer for €36/37m package and parties still confident to get the agreement done.

“Dorgu wants the move, five year deal ready at Man United – agreed also on agents side.”

Manchester United have landed on Patrick Dorgu as the left wing-back for Ruben Amorim’s system, and the 20-year-old will slot right into his team when he arrives. Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui have been playing out of position on the left for most of the season, but the arrival of the young Danish player will provide a natural option for the position.

Dorgu has impressed this season at Lecce, scoring three goals and adding an assist in 21 appearances. He also scored on his Denmark debut in September, leading his nation to a 2-0 victory over Switzerland.

Patrick Dorgu will bring physicality, speed, and technicality to Manchester United. In Serie A, he ranks 10th in tackles from defenders while also ranking 1st and 2nd in opposition-box touches and shots taken, respectively.

Should the transfer be completed in the next couple of days, there is a chance that Dorgu could be available for the match against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
