Leny Yoro has not played a competitive match for Manchester United but will play a crucial role for Ruben Amorim after returning from injury. The new manager believes Yoro is a ‘generational talent’ and is likely to play on the right side of Amorim’s back three.

On X, Fabrizio Romano discussed the club and manager’s views on Yoro, as well as his injury return.

“Ruben Amorim and his staff consider Leny Yoro one of the most interesting players to develop for Man United’s long term project. He’s considered a generational talent by the club and Amorim with his staff fully agree on that. Yoro’s full recovery is also at final stages.”

Leny Yoro broke his metatarsal in a pre-season friendly against Arsenal and had surgery in August. The 18-year-old returned to to individual training in late October, before rejoining the first team ahead of the Europa League battle against PAOK.

Regarded as the top teenage center-back talent in the world, Yoro will fit into Ruben Amorim’s three-back system alongside Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs De Ligt.

Manchester United has a wealth of young talent in the first team, including Yoro, Kobbie Mainoo, and Alejandro Garnacho. Mainoo and Garnacho recently finished as finalists for the Kopa Trophy, showcasing the quality of Carrington and the players that come through the famed Academy.

The Academy has potential gems of its own, with Harry Amass, Chido Obi-Martin, and Sekou Kone knocking at the door of Amorim’s team.

Manchester United’s young players steal the show with every appearance, and fans are looking forward to Leny Yoro starring for Ruben Amorim.
