Manchester United travel to Goodison Park on Monday with a chance to avenge a devastating loss to a 10-man Everton at Old Trafford in November. A win for the Reds helps to solidify a top-four spot while inching closer to league leaders Arsenal, who dropped points again to Wolves.
Team News
Michael Carrick revealed in his press conference ahead of the match that Patrick Dorgu, Mathijs De Ligt, and Mason Mount will remain out through injury.
The interim boss said that Mason is the closest of the three to returning, but that the staff will be “patient” with the midfielder as he is “an important part of the group.” De Ligt is behind Mason in his recovery, and Dorgu is still a ways away from rejoining the first team, according to Carrick.
Since Dorgu’s injury, United have lined up the same way in three consecutive matches. Barring any late issues, the starting eleven should not change for a fourth straight game, unless the boss wants to reward Benjamin Sesko’s goalscoring form with a start.
Predicted Lineup
Goalkeeper: Senne Lammens
Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw
Midfielders: Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes
Attackers: Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha
