Manchester United spoiled Mary Earps’s return to Manchester, beating PSG 2-1 at Old Trafford. Marc Skinner’s Reds picked up their third win in three League Phase matches and moved up to third in the standings.

Melvine Malard kicked off the scoring with a brilliant goal in the 32nd minute, as she fought off a defender and placed the ball far post past Earps.

Spanish legend Olga Carmona, who scored the winning goal for Spain in the World Cup Final in 2023, gave Safia Middleton-Patel no chance with a stunning strike to level on the stroke of halftime. Middleton-Patel started in place of standout goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce, who was out due to a knock.

Manchester United restored the lead for good through Frida Rolfo in the 59th minute. The 31-year-old scored her 22nd Champions League goal with a header from a cross by her fellow Swede, Anna Sandberg.

The win put Manchester United at nine points, a crucial number considering the challenges that await the Reds in the coming matchdays. After a visit to Wolfsburg, United hosts dominant Ligue 1 leaders Lyon before finishing the League Phase with a trip to Juventus.
