On October 2nd, Manchester United fell to Brentford and dropped to 14th in the Premier League table. Fast forward three matchdays, and the Reds sit 6th behind three consecutive wins. Now, Ruben Amorim and his reinvigorated United look to continue the momentum at Nottingham Forest.
Team News
Ruben Amorim will have almost all of his squad at his disposal when United visit The City Ground.
Lisandro Martinez returned to full training this week, exciting fans who have missed the Argentine defender for the past nine months. Despite the return to the pitch, Licha will not be a part of the squad against Nottingham Forest.
Amorim clarified that Martinez is unavailable, saying, “He wants to go to this one, he is not going to this one, he is going to take time.”
“He started training with us but we had to change some things in the exercise for him, so slowly he is going to get better.”
When Martinez returns, Amorim will have plenty of left-footed options for the left side of his back three. Luke Shaw has played most of the minutes there this season, with Ayden Heaven coming off the bench.
Only one other Red is a doubt for the contest. Harry Maguire missed the 4-2 win over Beighton and is expected to be out again this weekend. Leny Yoro started and played well in Maguire’s absence and likely will again.
Recent standouts Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Amad Diallo will look to earn the Reds 12 points out of 12 from four matches on Saturday.
