One member of Manchester United’s “bomb squad” has secured a move away from Old Trafford.

After a long saga, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho will join Chelsea on a seven year deal.

🚨🔵 BREAKING: Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea, here we go! Deal done between and Man United.

Garnacho only wanted Chelsea and will sign seven year deal at the club for fee close to £40m package.

Story from July, confirmed. 🇦🇷

After a strong start to his career, which included 13 goal contributions during the 2023/2024 Premier League season, Garnacho plateaued and found himself excluded from Amorim’s project. As a traditional winger, the 21-year-old did not have a natural fit in the manager’s new system and struggled when deployed as an attacking midfielder.

Garnacho has been concentrating on moving to Chelsea, as he only wanted to remain in the Premier League. He declined offers from Bayern Munich, Serie A, and Saudi Arabia to force a move to the Blues.

The 21-year-old joins a list of high-profile signings that includes Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, and Estavao.

Manchester United is continuing to work on deals to transfer Tyrell Malacia, Antony, and Jadon Sancho to new clubs ahead of the window closing. Another cast-out player, Marcus Rashford, secured his move to Barcelona earlier this month.
