Manchester United opened their season with a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford, but the performance offered plenty of encouragement for Ruben Amorim. As the new manager looks to secure his first Premier League victory, all eyes turn to how he will shape his next lineup.
Team News
After missing the opening match, Andre Onana will be back in goal for United at Fulham. Altay Bayindir, who started in Onana’s absence, made a critical mistake that allowed Arsenal to score the lone goal in the loss.
Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt, and Luke Shaw put in strong performances in the loss at Old Trafford, and all will likely start again at Fulham.
Amad Diallo made an immediate impact off the bench in the last match, and, while Diogo Dalot was solid, he offers a greater attacking threat. Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, and Patrick Dorgu look set to hold on to their midfield roles; however, if Amorim decides on a change, Manuel Ugarte could start over Casemiro.
Mason Mount put in a solid performance against Arsenal, switching play and putting pressure on the opposition’s back line. However, with him as a false nine, United did not have an option in the middle of the attack, causing several promising moves to break down. Benjamin Sesko made his debut off the bench and should get the start over Mount. Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha will start and look to score their maiden United goals at Craven Cottage.
Predicted Lineup
Goalkeeper: Andre Onana
Defenders: Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt
Midfielders: Amad Diallo, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Patrick Dorgu
Attackers: Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko
