Manchester United are considering a midfield-bolstering move for Club Brugge star Ardon Jashiri.
Jashiri, 22, was named the Belgian League Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year for the 2024/2025 season. He helped his side win the Belgian Cup, scoring a goal and assisting two in the competition’s six matches.
In 52 appearances since joining Club Brugge, Jashiri has four goals and six assists, showing that while he is effective defensively, he can influence the game at both ends.
Outside of a reworked front three, Ruben Amorim needs midfielders who can be effective in his system. Christian Eriksen has departed the club on a free transfer, and Casemiro could be leaving for Saudi Arabia. An injunction of youth and stamina is necessary for Amorim’s tactical setup to work, and Jashari can provide both.
Manchester Evening News reports that United are not the only team pursuing Jashari. AC Milan, along with a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Fulham, and West Ham are interested in the Swiss international.
As the club continues to pursue a deal for Bryan Mbeumo, additional midfielders are also necessary. A quick acquisition of Ardon Jashiri could be precisely what United needs ahead of next month’s preseason matches.
