Manchester United are adding Wolves star Matheus Cunha as the summer squad rebuilding begins.
After reports of a contract agreement between Cunha and Manchester United this weekend, the highly anticipated move has taken another step forward. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, United have agreed to meet Wolves’ release clause demands for their star forward.
Romano’s full post on X read:
🚨 No doubt since Sunday night: Matheus Cunha will be Manchester United player from Wolves for £62.5m release clause paid in installments.
Verbal agreement done on Sunday and to be formally signed next week, as always planned.
Here we go, confirmed. ✅🇧🇷
Matheus Cunha will now undergo a medical before his move to the club. The 26-year-old will be Ruben Amorim’s first signing of the summer and will bring valuable Premier League experience and goalscoring acumen to a squad in need of both.
With Cunha’s move now finalized, United can shift its focus to addressing other areas of the squad. Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is under consideration, while the club remains in the race to sign former Manchester City academy graduate Liam Delap.
Welcome to Manchester United, Matheus Cunha!
