Starting Eleven

Andre Onana: 6 – Onana had no shot at saving Cucurella’s header. He made several good saves, including a sharp stop on a deflected Cole Palmer attempt.

Victor Lindelof: 5 – A mix-up between Lindelof and Mazraoui contributed to Chelsea’s winner. While he was composed on the ball, his occasional lapses in concentration remain a concern ahead of Wednesday.

Harry Maguire: 6 – Maguire nearly scored again, but was marginally offside. He defended his position well and will anchor the line against Tottenham.

Luke Shaw: 6 – Shaw delivered a reliable performance, showcasing his growing confidence on the pitch. Surprisingly, he didn’t record a single defensive action in his 81 minutes. It’s clear he’s gradually finding his rhythm again, hopefully at just the right time.

Noussair Mazraoui: 5 – Mazraoui was decent defensively, but he and Lindelof failed to realize the danger as Cucurella cruised into the box for the winner.

Casemiro: 6 – Casemiro put in a shift ahead of his European final. He contributed with three tackles, two clearances, and four duels won. The experienced midfielder will be key on Wednesday and was subbed off in the 70th minute.

Mason Mount: 6 – Mount brought fight to the match against his former side, flying around the pitch and dueling with Enzo Fernandez. He had several chances to score, but failed to repeat the success he had against Athletic Club. Amorim likes him, and he could start ahead of Alejandro Garnacho in the final.

Patrick Dorgu: 5 – Dorgu was unable to affect the attack, but found good positions down the left all night. If he can improve his final product, he will be a very dangerous wing back.

Amad Diallo: 7 – Diallo was United’s most dangerous player, causing issues for Levi Colwill and Marc Cucurella. He had the visitor’s best chance, forcing a good save from Robert Sanchez at his near post.

Bruno Fernandes: 6 – Bruno was kept quiet and logged far fewer touches than he is used to (57). He was unlucky not to register an assist to Maguire, as his cross was well-delivered and finished.

Rasmus Hojlund: 3 – Hojlund fell well short up front, raising concerns ahead of the Europa League Final, where he remains Amorim’s only available striker. He was repeatedly outmuscled by Tosin and now faces an even more physical challenge in Christian Romero.

Substitutes

Manuel Ugarte: 5 – Ugarte was much better on the ball after coming off the bench. However, he did not impact the game defensively as Chelsea started putting more pressure on late.

Alejandro Garnacho: 3 – Garnacho was beaten far too easily as Reece James got his cross into Cucurella. He barely touched the ball in his 20 minutes, failing to make an impact anywhere on the pitch.

Kobbie Mainoo: NR

Ayden Heaven: NR – Heaven comes back just in time to provide depth at center back for the final two matches of the season.

Man of the Match: Amad Diallo
