Manchester United fell 2-0 to West Ham at Old Trafford to drop to 16th in the Premier League. The Reds have not won a Premier League match since March 16th, going seven games without a victory.
A first-half goal from Thomas Soucek gave the visitors a lead in the 26th minute. Despite opportunities for United, West Ham added a second through Jarrod Bowen, dooming Ruben Amorim’s side to a second consecutive loss at Old Trafford.
It was a pitiful performance for the Reds, with many players failing to make even a small impact. Manuel Ugarte, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund, three players expected to start or play important minutes in the Europa League Final, struggled.
To make matters worse, Leny Yoro went off limping in the 52nd minute. The young defender missed time earlier this season due to a foot injury, which will worry fans with just 10 days remaining before the Final against Tottenham.
Manchester United travels to Stamford Bridge on Friday to face Chelsea in the last game before the UEL Final. Amorim will likely rest several key players while ensuring everyone is fit and ready for the trip to Bilbao.
The loss hurts, especially considering the performance, but all eyes will be on Leny Yoro to see if he will be available for the final three matches.
