After scoring twice against Manchester United across two Europa League Quarter-Final legs, Rayan Cherki is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League, with United and Tottenham leading the race.
According to Caught Offside, Cherki will be available for around €35 million this summer, a price putting many teams on notice, as it is comparatively low for talent his age.
Cherki’s audition for Manchester United was excellent. The 21-year-old starred with timely goals while also showcasing his other attacking abilities, such as his quick feet and vision
Not only did Cherki pass the test for Manchester United, he saw the best of what the club has to offer. While he would have been heartbroken by the result, the pandemonium after Harry Maguire’s winner is a selling point for players who want to lead United back to the top.
Rayan Cherki has scored twelve times in all competitions this season and assisted another nineteen goals. His eight assists in the Europa League are two more than any other player. Comparatively, Alejandro Garnacho leads United with four.
Garnacho could leave this summer while United looks for players who better fit Amorim’s system. The 20-year-old’s preferred position is wider, likely contributing to his struggles this season. Meanwhile, Cherki is an attacking midfielder who would slot in nicely alongside Bruno Fernandes. The young star could also be a successor to the role that Fernandes plays in the United team.
Outside of Manchester United and Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Juventus, among others, hold an interest in Cherki, however, the Frenchman prefers a move to England.
