Starting Eleven
Andre Onana: 4 – Onana made a few nice saves in the second half, but his mistake leading to Everton’s second goal was poor. His ball distribution was also not up to par in the draw, with multiple kicks out of bounds or misplaced.
Noussair Mazraoui: 6 – Mazraoui had another solid showing as a part of the back three. He had five tackles and eight clearances, including a couple that prevented goalscoring opportunities.
Harry Maguire: 3 – Maguire should have been brought off after the Doucoure goal, where he watched the Everton midfielder score over him. His ten clearances did nothing to cover his critical lapses in concentration.
Matthijs De Ligt: 4 – De Ligt’s positioning in the build-up to Everton’s second was questionable, forcing Mazraoui to try to cover from the far side of the field. He was also unable to establish physicality and was manhandled at times by Everton’s physicality. On a positive note, the Dutch defender contributed with eleven clearances, two interceptions, and a tackle.
Diogo Dalot: 5 – Dalot failed to provide the same impact that Dorgu had on the other side, though he contributed a key pass in attack and three clearances at the back.
Manuel Ugarte: 7 – Ugarte’s first goal for Manchester United came at a perfect time and secured the away point. He also won two tackles and seven duels in the midfield.
Casemiro: 4 – Casemiro’s pace and endurance make him a liability in the midfield, as he is poor in transition situations. United improved when Bruno was moved back into his position.
Patrick Dorgu: 7 – Dorgu was a threat all match down the left. He forced Everton’s defenders into awkward positions and was fouled five times while also attempting four crosses. The young wing back’s final product needs to improve, but his overall impact is evident.
Joshua Zirkzee: 4 – Zirkzee’s passing was unusually poor, with the forward failing to complete simple passes at times. He won just one of his twelve duels and missed one big chance.
Bruno Fernandes: 7 – Fernandes was central to United’s comeback and was one of the few players who wasn’t poor the entire match. His free kick was beautifully struck and wrong-footed Jordan Pickford, leaving the goalkeeper standing still in his net.
Rasmus Hojlund: 3 – Hojlund had no impact in attack and was never in a good position to threaten on crosses. His hold-up play was suspect, and he had just 12 touches in 70 minutes.
Substitutes
Alejandro Garnacho: 6 – Garnacho was heavily involved after coming on and was dangerous coming off the left. His performance likely earned a start in Wednesday’s match against Ipswich.
Leny Yoro: 6 – Yoro was less involved defensively, as the Reds were well on the attack by the time the young defender came on.
Chido Obi: 5 – Obi had a few nervous moments after coming on but nearly equaled Hojlund’s touch total in just 20 minutes. He deserves to at least hold a bench spot going forward.
Man of the Match: Bruno Fernandes
