After a difficult first six months in Manchester, rumors began circulating that Joshua Zirkzee could leave Manchester United. Those comments gained more traction after the match against Newcastle United when Zirkzee was substituted in the first half to boos from United fans. Despite the struggles and disconnect with the supporters, the Dutch striker has decided to remain at Old Trafford.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Joshua Zirkzee ‘has no intention’ of leaving the club and ‘wants to stay’ and fight for his place. The 23-year-old is undeniably talented and still believes that he can succeed in the Premier League.

This season, Zirkzee has scored four goals and provided two assists across all competitions. His standout moment came on the opening night of the season against Fulham when he scored a second-half volley, helping secure an early three points for the Reds. Since that winner, though, not much has gone right, leading to the transfer rumors this month.

While Zirkzee prefers to stay at Old Trafford, he may be forced to reconsider if the club lands Randal Kolo Muani.

Manchester United have prioritized a loan move for Kolo Muani during the January transfer window. The 26-year-old’s role at PSG has diminished, and he is seeking more playing time away from the French capital. His arrival in Manchester would leave United with three senior strikers fighting for one starting role.

Juventus, along with other Italian clubs, hold an interest in bringing Joshua Zirkzee back to Seria A this month. However, unless something dramatic happens in the next three weeks, the Bayern Munich academy product will remain a Manchester United player through at least the end of this season.
