Manchester United are interested in bringing Victor Osimhen to Old Trafford this January if a deal can be struck with Napoli. The Nigerian striker has been on loan at Galatasaray this season after a fallout with the Italian club.
Osimhen has scored 13 times in 16 matches for the Turkish giants, including two in a Europa League win over Tottenham. The 26-year-old has added five assists, showcasing his well-rounded attacking abilities.
While some reports suggested that a swap deal including Marcus Rashford was close, Fabrizio Romano has rebuffed those claims, saying, “In terms of chance to move, it’s possible. But at the moment nothing is advanced or close with any club despite the links around. It’s still early for this one.”
After being dropped by Ruben Amorim for the past five Premier League matches, rumors have intensified over the possibility of a move for Rashford. The 27-year-old himself said that it may be time for a new challenge. Napoli are a front-runner, as they could include Osimhen or Kvicha Kvaratshkelia in a swap deal with United.
AC Milan also reportedly hold an interest in bringing Rashford in on loan, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Plenty of time remains in the January transfer window, and a Marcus Rashford exit seems likely as long as a club is willing to take on his salary or Manchester United is willing to assist with it.
