On Sunday, Manchester United drew 1-1 with Chelsea in Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s second match in charge. It was another game that slipped through the fingers of the Reds, but there were still positives to take heading into the fourth Europa League contest of the campaign.

The United defense was strong, with the only goal coming via a piece of individual brilliance from Moises Caicedo. Noussair Mazraoui filled the stat sheet with six tackles, two interceptions, two clearances, and a blocked shot in his first start since a minor operation. Matthijs De Ligt was also excellent, and his last-ditch defending saved the Reds multiple times.

United’s midfield options are still limited, though Kobbie Mainoo, Christian Eriksen, and Mason Mount could be available in the coming matches. Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, and Bruno Fernandes should keep a consistent midfield on Thursday.

Although the attack has shown improvement, scoring goals remains a challenge. Rasmus Hojlund won a penalty that Bruno Fernandes converted against Chelsea, but Hojlund has only scored twice this season. The attack needs to perform better if United hopes to improve their fortunes in the Europa League.

So, who starts against the Greek champions?
