Noussair Mazraoui recently underwent a minor medical procedure during the international break. Initially, the Moroccan international was expected to be sidelined for several weeks as he recovered. However, Erik Ten Hag confirmed in his press conference before Saturday’s match against Brentford that Mazraoui is now available for selection.
Earlier this week, Mazraoui was seen participating in training, which was an unexpectedly quick return to the pitch after his illness. Now, Ten Hag may be able to avoid playing Lisandro Martinez or Jonny Evans at left back if Mazraoui can start.
Left backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia remain unavailable, though their return is close with both back in training.

Ten Hag also confirmed bad news for Kobbie Mainoo, who will remain sidelined for multiple weeks alongside Harry Maguire. Mainoo’s absence will mean Casemiro or Manuel Ugarte will need to step in and provide midfield stability.
Alongside Mazraoui, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo are available after missing their respective international matches.
The Brentford match is massive for Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United career. Having several key injured players return will give the Dutchman less of an excuse if the Reds fall again.
