One manager Manchester United showed interest in should Erik Ten Hag be sacked is now off the table. According to Sky Sports, Thomas Tuchel has signed a contract to take over the England national team.
Rumors had been swirling about where the German manager would end up, with England interested and Manchester United keeping tabs. Now, Tuchel will be in charge of the Three Lions heading into the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Manchester United, sitting 14th in the league table, has, for now, delayed the sacking of Erik Ten Hag. The Dutch manager likely only has a few games to show he can lead the team, as the performances have been regressing rather than encouraging.
Time will tell whether Manchester United’s waiting was the right decision or whether the club has missed out on a manager who could get results.
