Manchester United’s disastrous start means that the pressure is on for Erik Ten Hag. The Dutch boss needs to get results fast, starting with Thursday’s trip to Porto.

The attack has sputtered in recent games. The ten goals in two matches against Barnsley and Southampton seem to be a complete fluke, as the Reds have scored once in the past three games. Against Porto, Rasmus Hojlund should start to give the attack a different look, with Amad Diallo and Marcus Rashford on either side of him.

Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo were both forced off with injuries against Spurs and will likely not be available, at least from the start. Christian Eriksen has played well recently and should start with Manuel Ugarte and Bruno Fernandes. However, if Mason Mount happens to be available, do not be surprised if he starts over Fernandes due to the captain’s poor form.

Despite struggling against Tottenham, the defense has been strong overall. Matthijs De Ligt and Lisandro Martinez are still working on their chemistry but have played relatively well together. Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui have been the two best players for United this season at outside back. This back four should remain unchanged in an important away match in Portugal.

Defenders: Noussair Mazraoui, Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs De Ligt, Diogo Dalot
