A disappointing week got worse with another home draw for Manchester United. Despite the issues, some players stood out. Here are my player ratings against Twente.

Starting Eleven

Andre Onana: 5 – While he can’t be directly faulted for the goal, Onana’s positioning left much to be desired. He made two saves.

Noussair Mazraoui: 8 – Mazraoui has been a bargain and was one of the best players on the pitch. He made four total tackles, including a critical last-man tackle, two interceptions, and a key pass in attack.

Harry Maguire: 7 – Maguire came in for De Ligt and was excellent. The England international had three clearances, a tackle, an interception, and a blocked shot. He was formidable on set pieces and was unlucky not to score.

Lisandro Martinez: 6 – Poor positioning from Martinez aided attacks from Twente, as he was often caught too high up the pitch. An off night for him shouldn’t be a regular occurrence, though, and he should be ready to go on Sunday.

Diogo Dalot: 7 – Dalot was given the license to roam into attacking positions, which he did effectively with three key passes. His work defensively, however, was not his best.

Manuel Ugarte: 7 – Ugarte was incredible at breaking up play in the midfield. The Uruguay international completed four tackles, two interceptions, two clearances, and blocked a shot. One area he will need to improve on is his passing accuracy, which was a measly 81%.

Christian Eriksen: 6 – Eriksen scored United’s goal and created Twente’s. His first-half strike was beautiful, but he lost out to Sam Lammers, who leveled the match in the second half.

Bruno Fernandes: 6 – Manchester United’s attack hums to the tune of Bruno’s form, which is not good enough right now. The club captain could not convert any of his chances and only had a single key pass. He must improve, starting with the weekend match against Tottenham.

Marcus Rashford: 7 – Rashford was quality in attack, with two key passes and five dribbles completed. He should have stayed on over Bruno for the last ten minutes.

Joshua Zirkzee: 5 – Two shots, with one on goal, is not an acceptable contribution for a United striker at home against Twente. Zirkzee failed to leave his mark and will likely see less time on the field with Hojlund’s return.

Amad Diallo: 6 – Amad was unable to create the havoc that has made him a driving force of United’s attack this season. His dribble attempts were mostly unsuccessful, and he never threatened the Twente goal.

Substitutes

Rasmus Hojlund: NR – Hojlund is a welcome sight amid United’s attacking struggles. He entered the fray too late to rate.

Mason Mount: NR – Mount should have had an assist after coming on. Too late to rate.

Kobbie Mainoo: NR – Mainoo came on too late to rate but was given a much-needed rest for most of the match. He should be fresh for the weekend test at Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho: 5 – Garnacho completed twelve passes and lost the ball six times. With Amad and Rashford taking each flank, Garnacho is being forced into a super-sub role that does not fit him very well.

MOTM: Noussair Mazraoui
