Manchester United return to Premier League action against newly promoted Southampton on Saturday.
Fifteen Reds were in action over the international break, while others stayed behind to continue preparing in the early season.
Joshua Zirkzee had an incredible performance against Bosnia, where he scored and assisted. He described himself as a ‘9.5’ and showed that off for his country. He should start alongside Alejandro Garnacho, who assisted a goal for Argentina, and Amad Diallo.
Manuel Ugarte showed he is ready for first-team Manchester United action with a complete performance against Venezuela. He proved he is exactly what the club has been missing and should draw his first start at St. Mary’s.
Bruno Fernandes was as influential as ever for Portugal and grabbed a goal on his birthday. Manchester United’s captain will start with Ugarte. Kobbie Mainoo will fill the midfield’s final spot.
Diogo Dalot scored a great goal that was assisted by Fernandes and he should start with Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui in the back.
The final spot in the backline is a difficult choice. Matthijs De Ligt had a terrible time on duty for the Netherlands. Meanwhile, Harry Maguire helped England claim a clean sheet before resting against Finland. With this in mind, Maguire should claim the last outfield spot.
Andre Onana kept two clean sheets for Cameroon and will look to add another against the Saints.
Starting XI:
Goalkeeper: Andre Onana
Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Noussair Mazraoui
Midfielders: Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Bruno Fernandes
Attackers: Amad Diallo, Joshua Zirkee, Alejandro Garnacho
