Kobbie Mainoo believes that Amad Diallo will be the next breakout player for Manchester United.

At the end of last season, fans were calling for Amad Diallo to start after flashes of brilliance, such as his iconic winner over Liverpool in the FA Cup. Despite these moments, Erik Ten Hag often opted to withhold Amad.

However, Amad has made it abundantly clear to Ten Hag that his time is now. A brilliant pre-season has landed the Ivorian winger three appearances already, two from the start, proving that the manager finally believes Amad is ready to make a difference.

Amad also has the backing of his teammates.

On the Premier League’s official TikTok account, Mainoo said, “I think Amad will break the internet. He’s got so much quality. I think he will go into the season flying.”

In his three appearances, Amad has scored once and has arguably been Manchester United’s most dangerous player, giving merit to Mainoo’s enthusiastic remarks. Now, the 22-year-old must build on the foundation from the early matches and be more influential in the outcomes of games.

Last season, it was Mainoo who broke through alongside Alejandro Garnacho. Can Amad Diallo follow in their footsteps and establish himself as a quality Premier League winger?
