Cristiano Ronaldo has reached goal number 900 for club and country with an emphatic finish against Croatia.

Left-back Nuno Mendes curled a beautiful cross in for the Portuguese captain to bury from inside the six-yard box. Ronaldo wheeled away in celebration and fell to his knees in tears as fans shouted his name.

The goal was also his record-extending 131st international goal. As this year’s Nations League Group Stage has just started, Ronaldo will have plenty of chances to add to his record.

Cristiano Ronaldo was brought to Manchester United in 2003 by Sir Alex Ferguson. In two spells at Old Trafford, the United legend scored 145 times in 346 games, cementing himself as one of the storied club’s best.

Congratulations, Cristiano Ronaldo, on 900 career goals!
