Liverpool has completed the signing of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. The Italian international was the focus of many rumors this summer, and Manchester United’s rivals have won the race and added to their attacking options. While the signing is a win for Liverpool, it could also benefit United.

With the sale of Chiesa, Juventus now has the space and cash to pursue long-time target Jadon Sancho before the transfer deadline. The Old Lady is prepared to take negotiations deep into deadline day to bring the English winger to Turin.

Erik Ten Hag has a plethora of options in attack, with Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo, Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Jadon Sancho as wingers. Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes have doubled as wingers multiple times in the past couple of seasons. With this in mind and needs at other positions, Manchester United would be happy to offload Sancho before the transfer window closes.

Chelsea is also interested in the former Borussia Dortmund star and could attempt a cash or player-swap offer at the deadline. Chelsea is prepared to offer Raheem Sterling or Ben Chilwell to United to get the deal over the line.

Jadon Sancho will be a hot topic on deadline day, and if he moves to play in Turin, Liverpool may inadvertently aid Manchester United’s finances.
