Manchester United has agreed to sell 21-year-old Hannibal Mejbri to Burnley. The midfielder has already completed his medical ahead of the club announcement.

Hannibal joins a Burnley team led by Scott Parker that has Premier League promotion aspirations. Their former manager Vincent Kompany took over Bayern Munich after the Clarets were relegated.

The Tunisian was once a highly-regarded prospect coming out of Monaco. United paid €10 million to bring him to the club in 2019. The former Reserve Team Player of the Year recipient failed to establish himself in the first team, despite a promising loan spell during the 2022-2023 season at Birmingham City.

Eleven players, including Donny Van De Beek, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane, Mason Greenwood, Willy Kambwala, and Scott McTominay have all sealed moves away from Old Trafford this summer. Hannibal will become the twelfth outgoing in a season of change at Manchester United.

This transfer may not be the last from Manchester United this summer. The club is working on a deal to bring Manuel Ugarte to Old Trafford. On the departures side, Christian Eriksen and Jadon Sancho could still follow Hannibal out the door.
