After three straight seasons on loan, academy product Will Fish will join Cardiff City on a permanent transfer. According to Manchester Evening News, Fish was attracting interest from Championship sides all summer and was looking to move away from Old Trafford. The 21-year-old will now have the opportunity to show what he can do at a side that has struggled out of the gate this season.

Cardiff City has lost both opening matches by a combined score of 7-0, including a 5-0 drubbing from Burnley last Saturday. Fish will need to adjust quickly, as Cardiff are at risk of allowing the season to get out of hand before it even gets going.

Erik Ten Hag brought the former England U19 center-back on the US tour, where he played decent minutes against tough opposition. Unfortunately, his pre-season was marred by an injury that caused him to be stretchered off against Liverpool. Thankfully, the injury was not as serious as previously feared, allowing Fish to complete his transfer.

Will Fish started at United at age seven and worked through the academy. After time with the U21s and U23s, he was loaned to Stockport once and Hibernian twice. Despite impressing on loan, the center-back decided it was time to find consistent first-team football, leading to this move.

We wish Will Fish all the best as he embarks on a new journey away from Old Trafford.
