Manchester United’s Portuguese Magnifico is here to stay. According to Fabrizio Romano, Bruno Fernandes has agreed to a new contract that keeps him with the club until 2027, with an option for another year. He will remain among the highest paid at the club.

Earlier this summer, it was rumored that INEOS was interested in offloading the star attacking midfielder. The new contract squashes any idea that the new leadership believes the grass is greener without Fernandes.

Fernandes arrived at United in the January 2020 window and has been the club’s most important player ever since. Since joining the Reds, Fernandes has 79 goals and 66 assists in all competitions. He has had at least 15 G/A in each Premier League season, including the shortened one when he came to United. Bruno is a leader on the pitch and has been a major reason Erik Ten Hag has a trophy in each of the past two seasons.

The 29-year-old is one of the Premier League’s finest, and that can partly be attributed to his mindset. While some footballers, especially in England, are affected by the media and criticism, Bruno has been able to perform and turn his critics into motivation consistently. He once said, “The real world doesn’t tell you that you were unbelievable after every match. A lot of times they are people that criticise you telling that you are not good enough. That’s just football. You have to be able to take it with a smile, and analyze it truthfully, and use it as motivation.”

Bruno Fernandes is one of the best in the world, and Manchester United fans will get to see him play for many years to come.
