Here we go again. Manchester United are reportedly working on a deal to bring long-time target Frenkie De Jong to Old Trafford. The Dutch international’s price tag is set at around €80 million, and United is ready to finally pay to bring him in.
Manchester United have been chasing a partner for young star Kobbie Mainoo all summer. Talks are still ongoing with PSG over a transfer for Manuel Ugarte after personal terms were agreed with the player. Adrien Rabiot is also a long-time target who could be brought to the club for free.
Multiple midfielders could arrive at United, as Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay, and Casemiro are all on the chopping block and may leave this summer.
One other option that could provide depth is already a Red. Toby Collyer has impressed this pre-season so far and looks set to break through into the first team. While not the level and experience of the external options, Collyer could be a long-term option at the defensive midfield position.
