In last season’s FA Cup Final, Manchester United fell 1-0 to Chelsea. Today, Marc Skinner’s side returned to Wembley with a vengeance and ripped Tottenham apart 4-0 to bring the cup to Manchester for the very first time.

In front of a sold-out Wembley Stadium, Manchester United came out ready to play and created a few good chances in the early going. Those chances were just a glimpse into what was to come from Marc Skinner’s team.

After proving to be the better side for much of the first half, the Reds found the breakthrough in first half stoppage time. Ella Toone picked the ball up near the halfway line, dribbled through the Tottenham midfield, and struck an incredible curling shot into the top corner.

Just after half, Rachel Williams doubled United’s lead with a brilliant header into the far corner. She had come close on a first-half header and, this time, made no mistake.

Three minutes later, a poor mistake from Becky Spencer presented Manchester United with a third goal. The Tottenham keeper scuffed a clearance, and the ball fell to Lucia Garcia’s feet, who passed it into the net.

In the 74th minute, Lucia Garcia doubled her tally and took United’s lead up to four. Her left-footed finish added an extra dagger into the hearts of Tottenham and added even more security to United’s lead.

Lucia Garcia, Ella Toone, and Jayde Riviere were taken off to a much-deserved standing ovation in the 77th minute. Each player produced a top-quality performance and played their part in the staggering scoreline.

An absolutely perfect performance from the Reds provided a first-ever FA Cup for the Women’s team. Marc Skinner and his players will be celebrating through the night and should be extremely proud of this accomplishment.

Congratulations to the Manchester United Women’s Team!
