I am a very passionate Manchester United fan and am very forward about my feelings towards the team during highs and lows of our seasons.

I have placed each of Erik Ten Hag’s signings into tiers.

The first tier is “The Perfect Signings,” which means I believe the player will be perfect for the Boss’ system and will be influential for years to come.

Tier two is “Enough for Now,” which means I believe they are okay for the current team, but I am not completely convinced of their future at the club.

The third tier, “Jury’s Out,” means I do not know if they will pan out for us or if their futures are in Manchester.

The last tier, “Waste of Space Get Them Out,” speaks for itself.

Tier One: Perfect Signings:

Lisandro Martinez

Martinez is the only person who deserves to be in this section for me. When healthy, he is by far the best starting left CB that United has. Let’s just say he is called “The Butcher” for a reason.

His signing brought many question marks about his height moving to the Premier League, especially from rival ex-players like Jamie Carragher. He proved his worth very early on, and the only thing that I hold against him is his injury record in the last six months.

It’s frustrating because we are a better team and build out of the back much better when he is on the field.

Tier Two: Enough For Now:

Rasmus Højlund

The 21-year-old is a definite improvement over the “waste of space” Anthony Martial but has also had his struggles. He went way too long without scoring in the Premier League, but has now found his form and scored seven goals in six games, which is an encouraging sign.

If we are planning to go to the top, we either need someone to partner Hojlund with or someone established that he could come in behind and is a proven goalscorer.

Only time will tell for Hojlund, as we do not know whether he is just in a purple patch or if this is what we can expect going forward.

Casemiro

Growing up being a fan of Case’s was something to behold. He did not care who you were and would run through you to get the ball at whatever cost.

I know Casemiro is older now and on the wrong side of his career, but we spent $60+ million on an aging midfielder who only lasted us two seasons. He provided a few big goals but also gave us multiple red cards and some very lackluster performances. I do not see him being a part of the squad next season, with Saudi Arabia on the horizon.

I am a big fan of Casemiro, but he was a poor buy again on United’s part, and we could have gotten him for a lot less.

Christian Eriksen

When we got him on a free transfer, I was excited, especially because of his performances for Brentford after his cardiac arrest recovery. I had high hopes for him. Last season, with a woeful midfield at times, he was able to shine.

Despite this, I think Eriksen will also be gone next season as I believe he is past the top level and is past his usefulness in the squad. I loved watching him play, but he struggled massively in the Champions League, which was a major part of why our midfield was so open.

Johnny Evans

When I heard he was training with us over the summer, I was extremely excited as I remembered him being a quality player for us post-Fergie. He has come in this season and done more than I think even he imagined that he would and has played in some significant games due to injuries. He is a true club legend, but this season should be his last, and he should join us on the staff side.

Tier Three: Jury’s Out

Altay Bayındır

Bayındır has only played one game for us and conceded two goals. That is worrying, as Onana has had his issues as well. Honestly, I cannot rate the man as we have only seen him once, but a 25-year-old starting keeper from Turkey should push Onana, especially during poor performances. Therefore, the Jury’s Out on whether we will see him in the future of Manchester United.

Tyrell Malacia

Tyrell Malacia is another player we saw some last year who showed quality abilities. He is pacey, but I get just as nervous with him on the ball as with Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Youth is on Malacia’s side, and, if healthy, he will have opportunities to improve and prove Ten Hag right.

Unfortunately, Malacia has been injured all of this season, so there is no answer on whether we will see him consistently in the shirt going forward or whether he remains backup to a center half or Dalot playing left back.

Mason Mount

Mount was an intriguing signing for us that came as a surprise. Mount had a poor twelve months for Chelsea before we went and spent big money on him.

Mason Mount has been out for much of this season, and when I have seen him play, he seems timid and out of his element. He has not produced any of the performances that Ten Hag was hoping for when he brought him in. Mount looks like Rashford, in that he has collected his money and does not care what happens next.

I hope I am wrong, but I believe Mason Mount will be gone within two seasons.

Andre Onana

The Jury is out on whether we made the correct decision to sign Onana for as much as we did. So far, with the performances we have witnessed, it looks like no. He was the reason for us getting knocked out of the Champions League, and we have lost several games due to his mistakes. Onana is our , and that worries me.

In my opinion, someone like Jordan Pickford or even Diogo Costa would be better in our set-up. Onana truly frightens me every time he’s on the ball.

Tier Four: Waste Of Space Get Them Out

Antony

Mr. Fidget Spinner should be sent to the depths of League Two. I will fly and drive him there myself if that helps. Amad Diallo, Facundo Pellistri, or even Hannibal would be so much better than him in that position. Instead of trusting our youth, we paid $100 million for a player who won’t even dribble at someone. Antony hasn’t scored in the Premier League and has just one goal this season against NEWPORT COUNTY. He is a more impaired winger than Adama Traore or even Matt Ritchie. I would send him anywhere for a bag of chips and get him gone now.
