In a thrilling 3-3 match, Facundo Pellistri turned his second appearance for Granada into one to remember. Pellistri started for the second straight match and after no goals or assists against Las Palmas, he grabbed one of each against Barcelona.

At the end of the first half, Pellistri got down the line and hit a low cross into the middle that was finished by young defender Ricard Sanchez to level the match. This was his second assist of the season, adding in one he had for United in the first half of the season.

After a poor clearance from a Barcelona defender, Myrto Uzuni smashed the ball through the 6-yard box for Pellistri. As the ball came in, Pellistri reacted quickly to turn the ball into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

This kind of performance bodes well for Pellistri’s future. There was no option or obligation to buy included in Pellistri’s loan, so United will not have to worry about losing out if this is the beginning of a great second half for him. He will have plenty of opportunities to impress, as it seems that Alexander Medina will use him as the starting right midfielder for his side.

With United low on resources and having to focus elsewhere, Pellistri may have a real chance to return from loan and cut out a real place in Ten Hag’s team for next season. Defenders, another midfielder, and a backup striker are priorities for Manchester United this summer, and adding anything more on the wing may have to wait.

Granada is home to Almeria on Sunday as they look to continue their climb out of the relegation zone.
